The Earth Day Festival was this past weekend. I attended and learned alot of interesting information from different groups about living in a greener world. I also joined a group called the Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury.
The Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury is a grassroots network of citizen groups and individuals who share a vision of Sudbury as a green, healthy and engaged community. We are working towards environmental, social and economic sustainability in the City of Greater Sudbury, through a Smart Growth model. The Coalition for a Liveable Sudbury was founded in 2006 around the principles of environmental sustainability and meaningful citizen engagement in municipal planning. A central theme for the CLS is connecting the vision of a sustainable community to the "nuts and bolts" of municipal policies/structures that will support this vision. If you would like more inforation please visit:

I also signed a letter in support of walking, cycling, and active transportation in Sudbury to send on to Councillors. If you feel like I do that we need more good walking and cycling infrastructure in our city, please print the letter, sign it and send it off to your local councillors. To find out who your city coucilor is use the document attached.
This Thursday, Friday and Saturday, check at the Green Earth Expo at Exhibition Place. This event includes a green jobs fair and a green trades fair. There will also be some booths of volunteer organizations. For the full schedule go to: www.tradeeventsnorth.com
Next Friday, April 30, check out a grassroots concert tour with pianist Frank Horvat. This recital presents new original piano music in honour of Earth Hour, in a completely dark performance space. The concert is free and will be held at the Cambrian School of Music Amphitheatre at 8 p.m. For more information, see: http://www.frankhorvat.com/performance/tour/sudbury.html
